The In Honor of Our Troops (IHOOT) Foundation was established at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D. C. when combat wounded first began arriving there during the early years of the Global War on Terrorism.  Although Americans knew that military men and women were losing their lives in combat, they were totally unaware of the challenges the survivors faced during the difficult and painful transition from able-bodied Warriors to permanently disabled Veterans.

The IHOOT Founder, a former Marine, developed programs and events to benefit Wounded Warriors and Veterans. 100% of profits support the causes supported by IHOOT. Foundation initiatives have grown from a simple golf tournament in 2002 to the development of several major programs today including the Vacations for Vets Program. IHOOT is a non-profit organization under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
